Wexford Strawberries Model County

Sporting Tours To Wexford

Irish Sporting Tours to Wexford is a town in southeast Ireland, at the mouth of the River Slaney.

It’s known for its medieval lanes and the opera festival held in the modern National Opera House.

West Gate Heritage Tower is a restored 13th-century tollgate. It’s next to the old town walls and ruined 12th-century Selskar Abbey.

The Bullring market place, once a bull-baiting site, has a statue marking the 1798 Rebellion against British rule.

The town was founded by the Vikings in about 800 AD.

They named it Veisajjoror, meaning “inlet of the mud flats”, and the name has changed only slightly into its present form.

Wexford has many rugby clubs in its county all within easy distance for travelling.

Plenty of water sports on the Wexford coast line including sailing if you would like to try your sea legs at that.

Loftus Hall - Irish Sporting Tours

Loftus Hall

Loftus Hall is one spooky house.

Originally built in 1170 by a Norman knight called Raymond Le Gros.

In 1350 around the Black Death it became known as Redmond Hall after Le Gros changed his name to Redmond.

Its had many owners and the present owners are now preserving the building for many years to come.

Loftus Hall is Ireland’s most haunted house.  Here you will be given a guided tour around the property where you will learn all about the dark side of the house.

For those feeling really brave there is a lockdown at night where you be given a tour with the lights on then off.

You will be left on your own for the night until the early hours of the following day.

Enough to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand.

Tennis Coaching

It takes a lot of work to become a top tennis player and to find out how tough it is, take a tennis coaching session.

Serving is a lot harder than you think.  Here you will be taught how to hold the racket correctly, poise and the technique in how to hit it.

Practice, practice, practice that’s what it’s all about.  Returning the ball back to the server is a skill too.

At the academy you will also learn how to return the serve without hitting the ball into the net or out of play.

Tennis can be played year-round, indoors or out.  That’s a good thing because regular bouts can improve strength, cardiovascular fitness, agility and balance. Here the coaches will break down the rules, gear, lingo and more to help any would-be tennis pro get started.
