Canal City

Rugby Tours To Venice

Rugby Tours to Venice, the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea.

It has no roads, just canals including the Grand Canal thoroughfare.

Although no surviving historical records deal directly with the founding of Venice there is tradition and available evidence.

This subsequently has led several historians to agree that the original population of Venice consisted of refugees from Roman cities.  These people came to Venice due to the successive waves of Germanic and Hun invasions.

Benneton Rugby is the professional club representing the region in the Guinness Pro14.

The side also provide several players to the national side.

Rugby Training with Benetton Rugby

Attend a very intensive training session with the coaching from Benetton Rugby.

The sessions here at Benetton Rugby are very good and a lot of teams comment on how good they are.

Of course, it’s all down to the coach giving the session. Benetton staff that do them are very good indeed and have international rugby backgrounds.

Teams take on a lot what is taught to them. This is shown in their results when they get home, such as winning their State Championships.

It’s all down to our training sessions and the coaches we provide.

National Archaeological Museum

The National Archaeological Museum is a museum located right on Piazza San Marco in Venice. It was established in 1523 by Cardinal Domenico Grimani.

This Museum has a great collection of Greek and Roman sculptures, ceramics, coins and stones dating back as far as the 1st Century B.C.

Some of the archaeological collections from the Correr Museum are also housed here.

Visitors can also view the elegant vases, impeccable ivories, portraits of Roman emperors, marbles and busts, gems and jewellery.

Numerous treasured relics of Assyro-Babylonian, Greek, Tuscan, Roman and Egyptian origins will enlighten the visitors seeking pieces of Neolithic Age.

Other highlights such as the Armenian-Venetian collection, legal texts dating back to the 17th Century can also be seen.

Grand Canal Gondola Trip

Enjoy a Gondola boat trip along the Grand Canal and through other canals in Venice, be ready to join in and sing when your gondolier gives you the nod he’s ready.

For centuries, the gondola was a major means of transportation and the most common watercraft within Venice.

In modern times, the boats still do have a role in public transport in the city, serving as traghetti (small ferries) over the Grand Canal operated by two oarsmen.

For some years there were seven Traghetti, but by 2017, the number had been reduced to three. But now elegant crafts to cater for all the tourists instead of the various types of shabby homemade boats of the distant past.
