The capital city has two major rugby teams. We have Stade Francais and Racing Metro 92 both fighting for top honours, what more can you ask for.

Some famous names have played for these teams so many to name. At present for Stade Francais you have Willem Alberts, Morné Steyn and the brilliant Sergio Parisse.

Metro 92 can boast two Irish stars, former Munster players Donnacha Ryan, Simon Zebo and kicking coach the great Ronan O’Gara.

ROG now has left to join New Zealand franchise the Crusaders but All Black legends Joe Rokocoko and Dan Carter still remain at Racing.

Eiffel Tower.

The Eiffel Tower is a wrought iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars.

It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower.

When Gustave Eiffel’s company built Paris’ most recognisable monument for the 1889 World’s Fair, many regarded the massive structure with scepticism.

Today has to be the most iconic landmark in the world.

Champs-Élysées

The Avenue des Champs-Élysées is an avenue in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, 1.9 kilometres long and 70 metres wide

It runs between the Place de la Concorde and the Place Charles de Gaulle, where the Arc de Triomphe is located.

For glory and grandeur, this is the most famous avenue in the world.

The monuments and history connected to this avenue are worth more than the reality of the place today.

Les Invalides

Built in 1676 it is one of the most prestigious buildings in Paris.

The complex contains museums and monuments all relating to the military of France.

Also known as a hospital and retirement home for war veterans, the original purpose.

Emperor Napoleon’s Tomb is situated in the complex along with other great leaders, a must see on any tour.

Moulin Rouge - Irish Rugby Tours, Rugby Tours To Paris

Moulin Rouge

The original house, which burned down in 1915 was co-founded in 1889 by Charles Zidler and Joseph Oller, who also owned the Paris Olympia.

Originally introduced as a seductive dance by the courtesans who operated from the site, the Can-Can dance revue evolved.

Growing into a form of entertainment of its own led to the introduction of cabarets across Europe. Today, the Moulin Rouge is a tourist attraction, offering musical dance entertainment for visitors from around the world.

The club’s decor still remains much of the romance of fin de siecle in France.
