Tinopolis Llanelli

Rugby Tours To Llanelli

Rugby Tours to Llanelli sits on the Loughor estuary on the west coast of Wales.

A short distance from Swansea it is known for it’s production of tinplate and of course its proud rugby tradition.

In the mid 20th century Llanelli was the largest town in the world where more than half the population spoke a Celtic language.

The town lies on the River Lliedi although much of the river can’t be seen especially In the town centre, where the river is under the town.

The first beginnings of Llanelli can be found on the lands of Parc Howard.

People from Llanelli are sometimes called Turks due to Turkish sailors landing there during their travels mind you it’s only a theory.

Llanelli also proudly boasts a team in the Guinness Pro14. It too has produced some famous names , Lee Byrne, George North and Welsh Legend Scott Quinell, presently our own Tadgh Beirne is contracted to them.

Rugby Training with Llanelli Scarlets

Intensive rugby session with the coaches from Llanelli Scarlets working on the roles that you think will improve your game and player’s abilities.

The sessions here at the Scarlets are very good and a lot of teams comment on how good they are.

Of course it’s all down to the coach giving the session and the Scarlets  staff that do them are very good indeed.

Teams take on a lot what is taught to them and this is shown in their results when they get home, such as winning their State Championships.

It’s all down to our training sessions and the coaches we provide.

Parc Howard Museum

Parc Howard Museum is a 19th century Italianate country house. In 1915 the mansion was turned into a hospital for wounded soldiers returning from the war.

The museum and art gallery is best known for its large collection of local pottery plus its collection of paintings and other artefacts.

The land the Museum sits on dates back to 1559. In 1911 Llanelli Council applied to buy the land from the owners and in 1912 the land was sold for a 999 year lease.

The house and land were then turned into a civic park and museum.

Stradey Castle

Built in 1850 Stradey Castle is the home of the Mansel Lewis family.

This castle has virtually been untouched and is full of history from those early days. A grade 2 listed building contains paintings and furniture of the 1700 hundreds and later.

In modern times this old house is now being used as a film set, for TV productions such as Dr.Who. Guided tours are available and well worth doing.

The stories of these great houses are fascinating and give you an insight of life 150 years ago.

Llanelly House

Llanelly House or Llanelli House is one of the most notable historic properties in Llanelli an excellent example of an early 18th century Georgian town house built in 1714 by Sir Thomas Stepney.

Restoration work started in 2011 and threw up all sorts of facts including that the house could even date back to the Tudor period, that’s 200 years earlier.

Plenty of artefacts have been found over the last few years and are now on show.

The house is now a premier heritage visitor attraction for archaeology, history, community, genealogy and conservation.
